Discover the ancient art of flint knapping in this immersive, hands-on workshop designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. The Flint Knapping Workshop will guide you through the fascinating process of shaping stone into functional tools and beautiful artifacts, just as our ancestors did thousands of years ago. Throughout this one-day experience, you’ll learn about the history and cultural significance of flint knapping, the different types of stones and tools used, and essential safety practices. Our instructor will demonstrate key techniques such as percussion and pressure flaking, then provide step-by-step guidance as you create your own arrowheads, blades, or other primitive tools. Participants will have the opportunity to handle authentic materials, experiment with various knapping methods, and gain a deeper appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own handmade stone tools and the foundational skills to continue exploring this rewarding craft. All materials and safety equipment are provided.
